

As a start we'd like to wish you a merry Christmas and hope to have you stay playing our mod!
on the 22nd of December 2004 the first version of OPK was finished and ready to be played. This year we managed to build up a (little) Version. In Addition to this we will give you some details.
Today you get the little Hotfix: OPK 0.27
A review on the year 2008:
We did small, nice steps and due to that haven't come forward as much as we wanted to.The last releases till 0.26 brought new maps, new weapons and new vehicles.
The feedback was completely positive except for some little negative critics. We are working to terminate these negative points such as the cockpits.The main problem concerning cockpits is, that they are taking much ressources from our team and we need these for different things.
As you can see, the Fennek already got its cockpit: It's going forward!
The 0.27 is a hotfix to take out some little but ugly bugs that managed to sneak into release 0.26.
2008 was also the year of change in the team. Some members worked on new projects for example for Crysis. Even if the technical possibilities are much better than on BF2 this game will not be an alternative platform for OPK!
We had a look at BF Heroes, what is not an alternative either. So we stand by and wait for BF3 asking what there will be in future.
We want to thank our fans, who, day for day, get up at least one Server with many friendly players! It's YOU who make OPK playable! We had a monthly avarage of 20,000 hits on our Homepage. Not the highest number, but an encouragement for us to keep working! What is to be seen is that most hits come from Germany and the rest of Europe and from Japan. A curiosity that is funny and intresting: Someone tried to download OPK with a WAP-Handy!
Articles in the computermagazines "Gamestar" or "PCAction please us very much.
Unfortunately there were not only good news. Battlegroup Frontlines our partner on the forums and in developement stopped work. Internal problems, combined with a lack of succes on BF2made the developers terminate work. Also the new forum, that was finally ready couldn't save the BGF-mod.
At the moment we support 10 other modteams such as the many PR-minimods. So if you play another mod and a model is known by you don't be surprised....
Coming up in 2009:
In 2009 Modlife probably will get harder. On the one side BF2 is not the newest game, and it has to stand against newer games, on the other side every day 30,000 plyers are online, playing BF2. The coming patch 1.5 will hopefully consist of positive surprises. In addition to that we are waiting for the news, that mods may run on the official ranking-system of BF2.
For OPK this means: Lots of things to do! We continue working as the plan sais, that was updated internal shortly ago. We hope, that our team will hold together and give you information about the Plan and the coming toys in the next releases:
Artillerysystem
Drivable howitzers, you can have a look at the serbian one on the Forum! just sign up and have a look at the first wallpapers. how the artillery in OPK will be used is not clear yet, we are testing and testing but it will take some more time. When we are finished you will be informed by the OPK-WIKI, that is planned to be released soon. As always a mixture of realism and fun.
Gamemodes
Another update will be the OPK-Gamemode, wich shall help us to get rid of the old Conquest. How fast we can manage to get it ready is not clear yet. Our Pythoncoders are working but some parts are still missing. So there will be changes to give OPK a unique profile and there will not be only one Gamemode...
Vehicles, Weapons, Maps
Here will be many changes. When and in wich release you will find this cant be told now and depends on the private lives of our developers. We hope to be able to finish some older projects soon...
The Brits
Are not to forget and have never been a joke. We are trying out how to use them in OPK and testing them. At first they will get old maps with a new tactical makeup.

Maps:
-Ambush: Changed the numbers of Helicopter and Jets. Both Teams now have two Helis and one Jet
-Harbour Sabotage: Fixed a Problem in the Spawnmenu caused by the BF2 Editor, wich made it verry difficult to select a spawnpoint
-Monastari Zogosiji: Changed the position of Landing Zone Alpha and some of it's spawnpoints for gameplay reasons
-Bordercontrol: Fixed a wrong entry in the Ini, wich caused invisble weapons and missing sounds io the upgrade kits.
-Airfield Assault: Fixed a localisation mistake. There is only one Radartower left now.
Python:
-You don't need 2 People in a squad anymore to upgrade your kit, if there are less than 2 players in your team
