F-4F Phantom II ICE - air superiority fighter

This plane build by McDonnell Douglas was the most build western plane after the F-86 Sabre (worldwide 5195). Its roots go back to the 1940s because it is based on the F3H plane. Due to its reliablity it is still used in the German Airforce and was overhauled several times. The most sigificant changes were the new Hughes/Telefunken Radar system "AN/APG-65", another possible weaponry of 4 AIM-120, new Cockpitdisplays, a IFF-System and enhanced bluffing and disturbing abilities. The Phantom will be replaced by the new Eurofighter Typhoon.

In Operation Peacekeeper the F-4F Phantom II ICE will have exactly this task. It will not only be able to fight against choppers but also it has to stand in the classical "Dog-fight" against the Mig 21. But the pilot has to watch out because the Phantom is very vulnerable by Flak or SAMs. The Phantom will be very useful when fighting against enemy choppers and planes to make the push for the ground forces easier.
