BRDM-2 - armored recon vehicle

The BRDM2 (Bronevaya Razvedyvatelnaya Dosornaya Maschina 2) is an wheeled amphibian recon vehicle. Produced since 1964 by the Molotov GAZ company, and exported in many different ountries all arround the world. The base is made up of  14mm  armor  steel, developed to  persist against NATO  ammonition with an calibre of 7.62mm.  But heavy machineguns with an calibre of 12.7mm or more, can penetrate these  armor. In the  front are tow seats  for teh driver and  the commander, protected by two windows with armoured  glass, which can be additional protected with 2 armoured claps. The 4 wheels are powered by an 140 PS motor, which allwing the crew to enter nearly all terrains.

 
The basic version  of teh BRDM2 is armed with an 14.7mm KPV MG and an coaxial 7.82 MM PKT MG. There are some more possibilities for an arment. You can use him as plattform for AT2-Swatter, AT3 Sagger, AT4 Spigot or AT5 Spandrel Antitankrockets. Another frequent configuration is a mounted SA-9 SAM launcher.
