BO 105-P PAH 1 - anti tank helicopter

The roots of the agile, 5 seated Bo105 reach back to the year 1961. The engeneering with two turbines and an revolutionary jointless mainrotor lead to intresting results:

The machine is very expensive due to the two turbines, but the operating time is relatively cheap because the joints in the mainrotor weren't needed anymore what provides less wear. The great agility and the safety of the two turbines made the Bo105 to a like chopper. The Bo105 P or M is used by the German Heer as the anti tank chopper PAH 1A1 and as "Verbindungshubschrauber" (VBH). The development and engeneering took place in the rooms of MBB (today Eurocopter). From the middle of the 70s to the middle of the 80s 227 Bo105M VBH and 212 Bo105 PAH-1 were bought. The VBH is unarmed and used os a troop transporter and exporation chopper. The Bo105 is also used by the Police, the Bundesgrenzschutz, the fire brigade and the ADAC. The UHU Tiger will replace the Bo105 as an anti tank chopper very soon.
