(A)G36 - assault rifle / grenade launcher

The Gewehr 36 (G36) is a modern Assault Rifle which is produced by Heckler & Koch. It displaces the G3 at the German Army. The body of the G36 consists mainly from plastic what guarantees a lighter weight and robustness. The standart magazine is half transparent that the shooter can see all the time how much shots are left. The G36 is equipped with a reflex vision for short ranges and an optical vision with a magnification of 3,5. The battle range of the optical vision is officially 800 meters, what is a exceeding distace for an assault rifle which was originally designed for short and middle ranges.

But not only the optical sights make it possible to shoot such long distances it is also the very hight precision of the G36. It works after the gascharger principle, what leads to less maintenance and only to a slight defilement of the barrel. One Variant of the G36 is the G36K (k for short [german: kurz]). This Variant is shorter and more handy than the normal G36, but the precision is not that good anymore. The G36 is also a step of change in the German Army. The calibre 7,62 x 51 mm which is used for the MG3 and the G3 is replaced by the new standart NATO ammuniton with the calibre of 5,56 x 45 mm.

Special about the AG36 is the underslung grenadelauncher (AG36 Grenadelauncher) which is able to shoot 40 mm grenades.
